"Feed the hungry! Help those in trouble! Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you shall be as bright as day. And the Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy you with all good things, and keep you healthy too; and you will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. Isaiah 58:10-11

This is the founding Scripture of "Helping Hands Ministry." Founded in 1994 the ministry was set up to help others, we offer practical help for the lonely and others in need. Regular visits are made and we aim to ease life's burdens.

Around four times a year a small parcel of food is delivered along with a greetings card. The recipients appreciate the gift of food, but we have found that the card means a great deal more to them, many keeping these cards for months. And of course, an unexpected caller is always appreciated during what may be a lonely or depressing day.

Jesus said, "Love your neighbour as much as you love yourself."
